Quick User Guides
Over the yesrs we have been asked to prepare several documents for different customers and Presentations.
Although they are quite broad in scope we present a few of them here in case there are any hints or tips that you might find useful.

Google MapsGoogle Maps
Keep an eye on this one. With some Google browsers (ie .co.uk) when doing a search if the hotel is located in the Google Business centre then there is a good chance that you will appear at the top of the Google Pages after someone does a search (The example below is a search for Birmingham Hotels).

Without going into the details of why Google is doing this (free!) and if they will continue to do it, we have taken it 'as read' that hotels should really have a lsiting in the Google Business Centre, as there are many other advantages. All our own customers have been set up on these maps (contact us if you are not sure), during the approval process you may receive a postcard from Google that needs to be answered to obtain your listing.

Google KeywordsGoogle Adwords
over the last few weeks many of our customers have been setting up new Adword Campaigs for the Spring Period ie Easter Breaks. Guessing which are the popular keywords to use to trigger the ads is always a problem. If you are looking for inspiration click on the 'Keyword Tool' (see attached) when you are on the Ad Variation page and it will generate some suggestions AND tell you what the Search Volume is like. Perfect this is not but we would rank it as one step ahead of guessing.


Early BookersAdvance Purchase Packages
We have noticed a trend on some websites and travel Portals for a new type of package called 'Advance Purchase'. Basically this would appear to be a low cost package, purchased in advance but with a 'no refund' condition in the event of a cancellation.
It is not clear what if any business guidelines this contradicts, but in this current climate it would appear to be a fair way to package rooms to both sellers and buyers alike.
