The 2009 version of the Booking Engine has now been released with several new features.

A. Text Alerts - Accommodation Providers can elect to have an alert sent to a mobile phone whenever a booking is made (Popular with our smaller customers) 
B. Sold Out Alerts - Whenever Allocation runs out on a particular room or package an E Mail alert is sent to the Booking Engine Manager allowing them to refill availability and prevent the loss of potential bookings.
C. Minimum Stays - It is now possible to set up a minimum stay on any room type for any day in a calendar year. Useful for Bank Holiday Weekends etc.

Inventory Distribution (the posh name for getting your rooms on other Booking Engines) continues to be the main game in town. With the cost of this software dropping to as little as 149€ Per month there really is very little excuse to avoid using it. Industry develoepd this tool to save time, but we have nearly always seen an increase in online bookings whenever it is used, and we are guessing this is due to intangible reasons VIEW MORE HERE. 

Below are our top 12 Hotel Online Marketing Objectives for 2009. This is based on an average hotel so some of the figures may not suit your property, but most of the principles should.

  1. I will sign up to at least 10 Booking Engines.
  2. I will buy and install a Inventory Distribution Software (ie Rate Tiger/AccuSell)
  3. I will update at least monthly a Google Adwords Campaign
  4. I will instill in my hotel Yield Management Practises (varying room rates to match demand)
  5. I will refine and sharpen the attractiveness of my E Mail Frequent Customer Scheme and distribute at least 10 E zines during the year
  6. I will refine and sharpen the attractiveness of my SMS Frequent Customer scheme and distribute at least 10 SMS message during the year.
  7. I will refine and sharpen the attractiveness of our Online Loyalty Scheme and find ways to ensure that it is promoted.
  8. I will increase my customer database by 1200 guests during the year
  9. I will create a combined Customer Satisfaction/Frequent Customer Sign Up and display in the reception AND the hotel rooms.
  10. I will create and implement a Reception Area bonus scheme for reception staff who gather customers details for our customer database.
  11. During the year i will add at least 50 articles/press releases to the website.
  12. During the year i will increase my web traffic by 30%
