AccuBook have now introduced a Last Minute section into AccuBook, the hotel website Booking Engine.
This technology was developed and piloted by http://www.millparkhotel.com/ and has also been integrated into recent hotel websites such as http://www.hotelkilmore.ie/,
Essentially a panel appears on the hotel website that displays rooms with a discount of more than 30%, available in the next 72 hours. (The calculation is done by comparing the rate on the day with the Standard Allocated Price in the Booking Engine). This has proven to be very attractive to customers who of course like the idea of a bargain, and useful to the hotel owners who can match supply to demand very effectively using this tool.
The next release of AccuBook will permit visitors to select a date and view both room and availability 7 days either side of the selected dates. This caters for people who may have some flexibility and wish to select for example days when cheaper prices exist. This has the extra advantage of smoothing demand by encouraging visitors to book during quiet times.
