Adding articles to your website

1. Hover your mouse over Sections (2) under the Web Site Text menu item

2. Click on the parent category name that you will be adding the new article to. The edit form for the parent category will be displayed.

3. Click Add Article (7). The article details page will be displayed. Information about the fields is provided in the table below.

4. Click save (8). The new article will now appear in the CMS sections menu under the category you added it to, as well as on your website. It will also be shown on the ‘Latest articles’ section of your site.


Name Purpose
Category The category that the article will be included in. When creating a new article the Category where you clicked the Add Article will be selected. When editing an article this drop down will be disabled to avoid changing the category by mistake. To change the category, click Change Category to enable the drop down.
Heading This is the Title of the Article that will be shown on the category page of your site.
Short intro The text shown in list of article summaries on the category page. This intro should let the reader know what the article is about. Images cannot be added to this field.
Image This image will be shown beside the article on in the list of article summaries, and when the full article will be displayed. The image will be resized automatically based on the settings in the ‘Web Site Text’ – ‘Section Settings’ page.
Content This is the content that will appear for this category on your website,above any article summaries. See “WYSIWYG Editor” for information on formatting the content.
Edit date Articles are sorted based on their edit date; the most recent articles are listed first. Leave this field blank to use today’s date. Editing an article will not automatically change the edit date. To set the date to a particular date enter the required date in the format dd/mm/yyyy.
